Known individually for their brilliant innovations, these two great brands have decided to merge to offer you practical, economical, and above all, low-cost vehicles. Thus, for the horizon of 2019, the Renault-Nissan alliance proposes a low-cost electric vehicle to be marketed in the Chinese market.

In an announcement made official on August 29, 2017, the Renault-Nissan group announced its intention to market a category of affordable electric vehicles in China.

eGT: a powerful alliance taking on the automotive market in China

Through this alliance between French and Japanese automotive technology, the Renault-Nissan group promises wonders in the Chinese market. The Dongfeng automotive group, which is owned by the Chinese state, has been associated with this project and holds half of the shares, or 50% of the project. Nissan, for its part, owns a quarter, or 25%, and Renault also holds 25%.

The goal set by the eGT group is to produce a small electric vehicle that is both smart, dynamic, and affordable. This hyper-connected vehicle is thus set to be a concentrate of technologies, especially when we recall the design genius that each of the brands involved in this project is capable of.

The vehicle will be assembled in China, in the factories of the Dongfeng automotive group. According to initial reports, it seems that the new flagship car of the eGT group may be marketed under various logos, that of Nissan, that of Renault, or with those of the Dongfeng brand.

The Nissan and Renault brands are not new to collaboration. This duo, often working with the Dongfeng group, seems poised to conquer the automotive world.
